Prints & Products
Fifth Avenue Photography has made it even easiler to order prints and products. With every photo package, the client will be able to view their photos on a private/password protected gallery. From there, prints and products may be ordered from our professional photo lab. This saves you time from having to upload your photos to send off to be printed.

Fifth Avenue Photography offers a large variety of specialty printing sizes that local labs do not offer with prices starting at only $1.40.

Gallery wraps, standouts, and fotoflōts are an elegant and contemporary way to display your cherished photos. With many sizes to choose from, they are sure to bring a unique and personal decorating touch to your home or office.

Fotoflōts
Fotoflōts are frameless wall pictures that are printed on true photographic paper and mounted on a 1/8" acrylic base. Both are laser-trimmed to the size you choose and arrive ready to mount. Hardware and instructions are included.

Fotoflōts have two options to choose from; desk mounts, which include a stand and wall mounts, which come with hanging hardware.

Gallery Wraps
Gallery wraps are photographs printed directly on canvas. The canvas is then wrapped around a 1.5 inch wooden strecther frame which makes it ready to hang.

Standouts

Standouts are photographs mounted on 1.5 inch thick gatorfoam board. Available in E-Surface, Metallic, or True Black & White paper. Trim comes in black or white.

~Special Note on Printing~
Some of the unique photographs that I design are of an uncommon size that local labs may not print. These photographs are titled as such on your disk (Creative Design Packages) and prints may be ordered through my pro-lab via your web gallery. If you choose not to print them, they make wonderful desktop photos as well.

Understanding Printing
The lab that you choose to print your cherished photos from can make the difference between just so-so photographs and dynamic photographs. There are several reasons for this so I have provided some tips to help give you direction and assistance when printing photographs on your own.

First, calibration; in order to see images the way that they were intended to be seen, the computer monitor must be appropriately calibrated. This is something that professional photographers, as well as web designers and graphic professionals do so that when they edit their photos, colors are printed as they are seen on their computer screen. It is recommended that professionals calibrate their monitors every 2 to 4 weeks. Non-pro labs do not always produce the same colors as pro-labs.

Second, aspect ratio of a photo; this is the relationship between the photo’s height and width. For example, a square image has an aspect ratio of 1:1 because its height and width are equal. Aspect ratio is important when printing in standard sizes (4x6; 5x7; 8x10; 16x20 and 20x30). As long as the relationship between your image and the chosen print size is standard for the height and width of the photo, the entire image will fit on the print. If the dimensions of the photo are too tall or too wide, or square, the image will not occupy all of the space on the print. Simply put, a 4x6 can enlarge to an 8x12 then 16x24 and so forth.

So how does this relate to your images? Most digital SLR cameras (such as the ones professionals use) produce files with an aspect ratio of 3:2 so you can print sizes such as 4x6, 8x12, etc. If you want to make an 8x10 or 16x20, which is a ratio of 5:4, some cropping will occur.  Confused yet? That’s ok. When you choose a photo lab to print your photos, find one that has a cropping tool that is user friendly. Meaning, you the customer can move it around on the picture to ensure that no important parts, like heads, are cropped off. Some common store labs and kiosks, do not offer this and your photo is cropped however the machine chooses to do it. Although these are easy, quick and inexpensive options for printing “fun” photos, they may not produce the results you were hoping for your cherished photos.
